Career Gemini: A Google AI Hackathon
Project Overview
Google and Devpost sponsored a remote AI Hackathon from March 18-May 3 2024. There were 15,600 participants and $50,000 USD in prizes.
Over those 6 weeks I brought the concept of Career Gemini from sketches to wireframes, making changes based on feedback from the team.

3 user interviews were conducted by the Project Manager prior to me joining the team.
Trends From User Interviews
“[It is difficult] finding the right opportunities matching my skill set and past experience”
“I get frustrated trying to guess what is really offered/ being asked between the lines”
“[I dislike] Not fully understanding the position when described on Linkedin because all listings are made from the same buzz words and passwords”
After synthesizing the data from user interviews, I conducted Market Research on existing career coaching LLMs.
I then moved on to sketching the UI for Career Gemini with inspiration from real products and sketches made by Elia Brodsky.

Many job seekers struggle to interpret job postings and determine if their skills align with potential roles.

While we did not win any of the prizes, I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with a team of passionate developers in a dynamic tech environment. This was my first project working with multiple developers, and I am proud of what we accomplished through communication and dedication.
